Why work with a licensed psychologist?

Licensed psychologists have doctoral degrees and have received more training in mental health than any other licensed professional group. This means that they have a median of seven years of training in mental health beyond a bachelor’s degree. Licensed psychologists in the state of Oregon have graduate degrees along with a minimum of two years of full time supervised clinical training.

Licensure is meant to protect the public from clinicians who have not been well trained or do not have the client’s best interest in mind. Licensed psychologists abide by the American Psychological Association's Code of Ethics and are committed to protecting the welfare of the client.
